Meet Dr. Jack Train

dentist jack trainDr. Train has been practicing in Scarborough for more than 35 years and has worked at Dentistry at Consilium since 1984. A graduate of the University of Toronto, he is a family dentist with a particular interest in crowns and bridges, periodontology and dentistry for brass musicians.

A Passion for Dentistry and Music

In addition to being a dentist, Dr. Train is a professional musician and trumpet player. He also has lectured at Humber College, York University and the University of Toronto on “Dentistry and the Brass Musician.” Presently, he is teaching the senior students at the University of Toronto’s faculty of dentistry in the senior clinic with a focus on restorative dentistry and crowns and bridges.

He also serves as a dental consultant to AFM in New York, Toronto and Chicago, as well as to the International Trumpet Guild, the Toronto Musicians’ Association and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons. His published articles can be found in Canadian Musician, Allegro, Crescendo and International Musician.

Enjoying an Active Family Life

Outside the practice, Dr. Train enjoys spending time with his family. He is happily married to his wife Andrea, and they have two daughters, two sons, seven grandchildren and three grand-dogs. Dr. Train also enjoys staying fit, skiing in Colorado and vacationing at his cottage in Muskoka.
