LANAP FAQ

LANAP is a minimally invasive gum disease treatment that uses a very specific laser. This treatment is the only scientifically and clinically proven to regenerate soft tissue and bone.

There are numerous benefits to choose this LANAP treatment over the conventional gum surgery:

  • Because no cutting and stitching is required, there is minimal discomfort, minimal bleeding and less swelling after the procedure and a much shorter recovery time. Normal activities, like work, can be resumed after less than 24 hours
  • Because no cutting is required, the gum tissue stays intact and there is very minimal gum shrinkage
  • The laser treatment promotes regeneration of the supporting gum tissues

Any patient with moderate to severe gum disease can benefit from the LANAP treatment. It is also an excellent option for any patient that does not want the conventional gum surgery.

Only dentists that have completed a one year comprehensive, clinical hands-on, dentist to dentist at the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry are able to be certified to perform the LANAP protocol.

There is only one specialized laser the PerioLase MVP-7 that qualifies to perform LANAP treatment.

Periodontal treatment is covered by many insurance plans, our friendly staff will gladly assist you in   obtaining the information from your insurance.

Patients on blood thinners or aspirin regiments DO NOT have to discontinue their medication.
